In each episode, Mr. Birchum finds himself in absurd and comical situations as he struggles to come to terms with the modern world around him. He often tries to connect with Eddie by playing video games or attending gaming conventions, only to end up embarrassing himself. His interactions with the selfie-taking students lead to hilarious misunderstandings and awkward moments.
Meanwhile, Mr. Karponzi constantly tries to enforce the school district's new "J.E.D.I." (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) program, much to Mr. Birchum's annoyance. The two of them clash in various ways, whether it's during staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, or school events.
Throughout the series, Mr. Birchum learns valuable lessons about acceptance, open-mindedness, and the importance of embracing change. Despite his initial resistance to the modern world, he ultimately realizes that there is value in understanding and adapting to new technologies and ways of thinking.
