In the movie "The Woman in Red," the protagonist, Teddy Pierce, is a successful and happily married family man who becomes infatuated with a beautiful woman (Charlotte) he sees on his way to work. Despite his love for his wife, Didi, Teddy becomes obsessed with Charlotte and begins to go to great lengths to try to meet her.
Teddy enlists the help of his friends to come up with schemes to arrange a meeting with Charlotte without his wife finding out. He tries everything from pretending to be a fire inspector to crashing a charity event where he knows she will be in attendance. Despite his best efforts, Teddy's attempts to meet Charlotte are constantly thwarted, and he finds himself in increasingly absurd and embarrassing situations.
As Teddy gets closer to finally meeting Charlotte, he begins to question his motives and the impact his actions are having on his marriage. Ultimately, Teddy must come to terms with his feelings for Charlotte and decide what truly matters most in his life.
Through a series of comedic misadventures, "The Woman in Red" explores themes of temptation, loyalty, and the consequences of giving in to desire. The film was directed by and starred Gene Wilder and also featured performances by Kelly LeBrock, Charles Grodin, and Gilda Radner.
