As the story progresses, Precious is expelled from school when her pregnancy is discovered, but she is given the opportunity to attend an alternative school. There, she meets a caring and supportive teacher named Ms. Rain, who helps her to learn how to read and write. Precious also attends group therapy sessions with other young women who have experienced similar traumas.
Throughout the film, Precious faces numerous obstacles and struggles, including dealing with her abusive mother, trying to raise her infant son, and facing the reality of her own HIV-positive status. Despite these challenges, Precious begins to find strength and hope through the support of Ms. Rain and her classmates.
As the story unfolds, Precious learns to confront her past and advocate for herself, ultimately finding the courage to leave her toxic home environment and build a better life for herself and her children.
