In Police Story: Lockdown, the man, named Wu, is desperate to have his wife released from prison after serving a long sentence. In order to achieve his goal, he takes a police officer named Zhong Wen, played by Jackie Chan, hostage during his daughter Miao Miao's birthday party at a nightclub. Wu also captures a group of strangers at the party, including Miao Miao's boyfriend, in order to leverage their influence to negotiate with the authorities.
As the night unfolds, tensions rise among the captives as they try to figure out Wu's intentions and find a way to escape.
