As Louise spends more time caring for Antonina, the two women gradually form a bond despite their initial animosity towards each other. Louise starts to learn more about Antonina's life in Poland and the struggles she has faced as an immigrant in America.
Meanwhile, Louise's own struggles with her identity and purpose in life come to the forefront as she grapples with her own mortality and the limitations of her physical abilities. She realizes that she has been avoiding confronting her own insecurities and fears about growing older and facing responsibility.
Through her interactions with Antonina and the other residents in the physical therapy ward, Louise starts to come to terms with her own shortcomings and fears, and begins to find meaning in caring for others and learning from their experiences. She also starts to reconnect with her passion for music and begins to find a sense of purpose in using her talents to bring joy to those around her.
As Louise and Antonina's relationship deepens, they both come to realize that aging is not something to be feared, but rather a natural part of life that should be embraced with grace and dignity. The film ultimately serves as a poignant reminder that it's never too late to grow, learn, and find happiness in unexpected places.
