Tina's mother, Sharon, is initially shocked and disappointed by her daughter's pregnancy, but eventually comes to terms with it and offers her full support. Together, they navigate the challenges of teen pregnancy, including dealing with judgment from their community and figuring out how to support the baby financially.
As Tina's due date approaches, she begins to bond with her unborn child and realizes that she is determined to give her baby a good life, despite the difficulties she will face as a young, single mother.
Throughout the movie, Tina also struggles with her relationship with her ex-boyfriend and father of her child, who starts to show interest in being involved in their baby's life. Tina must decide whether to forgive him and allow him to be a part of their child's upbringing.
Ultimately, the birth of her baby brings Tina's family closer together and helps her find a sense of purpose and strength she never knew she had. The movie ends on a hopeful note, with Tina embracing motherhood and looking towards a brighter future for herself and her child.
