Asmara, a young and rebellious teenager, is forced to spend her summer vacation with her strict and traditional grandparents in their neighborhood. Feeling frustrated and out of place, she decides to lie to her friends back home, telling them she is in Canada instead.
Asmara quickly realizes that life in her grandparents' neighborhood is very different from her own. She struggles to adapt to the traditional customs and expectations of the community, but gradually begins to appreciate the values and lessons they impart on her.
Throughout the summer, Asmara forms unexpected friendships with her neighbors and learns important life lessons about family, tradition, and the importance of staying true to oneself. Despite her initial reluctance, she begins to embrace her new surroundings and finds a sense of belonging in the neighborhood.
As the summer comes to a close, Asmara must decide whether to continue pretending to be in Canada or to come clean to her friends about her true whereabouts. Ultimately, she learns the importance of honesty and acceptance, and finds a newfound appreciation for her grandparents and their way of life.
